That was cool.  I would love to see that in an Imax theatre.

Your pieces are always so lush, deep, and layered.  I close my eyes and imagine you twising knobs, tweaking envelopes, and cranking the volume.  Do you use a sub when you mix?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for listening to my stuff, again, Jesse. I really appreciate it

I don't use a sub. In fact, most of my stuff is mixed using headphones and I keep my eye (rather than my ear) on the frequency spectrum using Voxengo SPAN.

I'm also afraid that, for this track at least, there is no real time knob twisting going on. This is all tweaked on the go, but in many passes, getting stuff to try and sit right. So there is some "composing" going on, but not in the traditional sense.

I have almost completed my new studio. Nothing that good about it, except that I am allowed to spread out a bit with my "real" instruments and I also now have my nearfield monitors set up again.

cheers, and thanks again,

Cool stuff Andy! I still don't know how you create these, but they are great mood pieces. I should probably watch the video, but I didn't want to be distracted...

Dan

Thanks Dan!

You must have been listening to this as I was listening to your latest masterpiece

I must admit, the way I make these things is so much different to what I was doing a couple of years ago. Much more effects and automation in these whereas in my earlier pieces I'd have more synths in a piece and only basic delay and reverb.

Thanks again for listening to this and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

cheers

Thank you very much Gary

I could certainly give you some pointers, if you fancy having a go

Having listened to Calypso, though, I'm not sure that you would want to...

Thanks for listening

cheers

Didn't watch the video, which I'm sure is cool, but as expected I didn't really need to.

Another successful piece, Andy.  Loved the "white noise hits" weaving in and out over the slowly evolving bed, like a large object twisting and turning in space...  an object that at one point starts to get some rhythm.
