I think what confuses me about this song is the use of drums that are in time when everything else seems not to be.

then you have a wash of other sounds and soundscapes that do not create a particular emotion coherently. The musical background is not coherent until itself. However, I think if you listened to the Doors alot you'd gain some ideas on how to create that musical feeling with discordant instruments and tones while at the same time keeping your own artistry involved.

The honest feeling I get with this musical piece is a bit of a monster unfolding toward me; a bit of a zombie stepping at me, dragging a leg, in a dark room and our fate is inevitable. The picture in my mind is hard to describe, but if you saw torn flesh, unfolding toward you, moving like an amoeba might, but looking like flesh does, that might come close.

I would have to say that I agree with much of what you say.  I am at a stage right now where I am experimenting so there is credence in your assessment.  Eventually I will reign myself in and get more traditional, but as it is right now I am going to let it all hang out, and I know that it will be a puzzling experience for folks who listen.  I am happy that people do listen, and often wonder that reactions range from wtf, to, is he serious, is he sane, does he care, is this a joke, or "man I love it."

The zombie flesh amoeba part was very interesting.  If a song can make you see that then both of us must have very creative minds.

Love how you (I mean you - not me) get sucked into the quicksand of the music at the end of each verse, that's a very cool, intense effect. A short piece, but really effective.

Love it, Jesse!  Very creative use of the fabric of sound.  One of my faves.

Jesse, this took me back to the sixties - I think there is some really cool sounds going on here. I like it.

I like it too. The extreme stereo imaging of delay seems appropriate. In some cases I feel like I get the delay without the sound itself. I listened to several songs... not just the first.

In general, I think it's super creative and fun.

Just listened... I'd love an insight into your creation process Jesse, because it really is difficult to tell which is "real" and which is virtual, if you know what I mean?

Obviously, the vocals fall into the "real" category.

Are the drums recorded live? What other elements are "performed" as opposed to being "contrived." when I say "contrived," I mean created within Sonar with a VST, perhaps automation and what have you.

One thing for sure, this sounds "live" to me. I've said this before, your stuff has that kind of raw, honest vibe to it. Get ready and hit record, see what happens.

First, let me say how honored I am that all of you have chosen to listen to this tune.  It is significant that you take the time to share your feelings.

Secondly, to synkrotron, man, you have me sussed.
I wish you could see my workflow too.
This is how it goes mostly,

Once she traipses through the back door

I tell her how beautiful she is,

And I query her how her day was,

The soliloquy draws me towards her.

For a hug I ask,

And I feel her breathe against my chest.

Without hesitation, I gently place my right hand on the back of her head, and run my fingers through her hair
All the while grasping her supple hips with my hand left

Her soul looks into me
I whisper how much I need her

Then, with my lips, I reach for hers, and kiss only as much as she will allow
After that, she does the rest.

I Love Her,
She Loves Me.
