This should be easy but for some reason I am not able to DISABLE the network connection sound. I have "No Sounds" as my sound scheme and I checked to make sure it wasn't somehow modified to play the connection sound. I get no other system sounds whatsoever, but for some reason I get this annoying windows notification type sound everytime the network is connected. I usually have the wifi on (I know, I know...)and this sound just about blows me out of the room when it comes thru my monitors at about 110dB! Surely, there must be a way to disable but I have searched and searched without success. Any ideas??

You didn't say what OS you are running.  I took a look at my Win XP and Win 7 systems and couldn't find anything in the Sounds control panels that looked like it would be a network connection sound.

There are sounds for devices (like USB devices) connecting and disconnecting.  Is that what you are hearing?

Thought it had to do with the network connecting but I could be wrong. Always get it at start-up and if I change networks. It sounds like the windows start-up sound but that, along with every other sound as far as I can tell, is specifically disabled.
Win 7 OS.
