It seems like I've been waiting for several years and haven't seen the price move down much at all.

Any idea when *4k* video will drive the market towards affordable 2560x1600?

Thanks.

I haven't got a clue. These days it's almost hard to find something better than HD, which isn't really much these days. I guess it should be happening soon ...

I got myself an used Daewoo Sensy 30" for a bargain. It uses the same display as the old 30" Apple Cinema Display. SONAR X1/2 is looking great on this kind of screen!

Actually since most consumers would be happy with less resolution there will never be much of a market for that high a spec. As you know, quantity drives down price so without ever being produced in mass quantity, they should never lower the price.

I guess I'm imaging that many people who bought a 70" 1920 x 1080 TV for thousands of dollars will be very happy to trade that out for a 70" 3,840 x 2,160 TV that looks a lot less blurry.

I'm hoping to catch some of the trickle down by finding a good deal on a hi res 25" monitor when it all finally happens.

We've been shooting a bunch of 4k video lately... so I guess I'm just thinking everyone in media production is thinking about this stuff.

Maybe in few more years. :-)
