I would think so.  GCs are always available at significant discount.  Running a generic sale and taking GCs would be like double coupon day at SafeWay.

 Nope.  Go add 100 gear credits in a cart.  You can use jam points which will still cost you $70 cash.  There's no significant discount. Gear credits or products only allow 30% discount using jam points.

I believe Bob's point was they just recently had GC Sale, and you could
still us Jampoints when purchased already discounted GC's!  Now, couple
that with the fact that they allow you to buy new sale items with GC's and 
you are technically paying a lot less...

I believe that is what he was speaking of...

I prefer to pay as little as possible at every opportunity just like everybody else.  I do see that there have to be limits for sellers to stay in business though.
