Well... since every band I've played in since I was 18 (with the exception of two cover bands and one house gig I used to do) had at least one female member in them and the gurlies were always FAR more motivated to learn and create than the weenie owners if I can get my wish and set these ladies up so they can do what I'm doing for themselves we may end up with a new flock around here at some point.

However, SONAR might be a little pricey/overkill for them at first. I know my one female friend set up a little tracking studio a while back but she talked into using Cubase (by weenie owners of course). She also wasn't really a musician/songwriter (more into supporting/promoting acts) so CB make a little more sense for her.

I've always said SONAR is an excellent package for independent songwriters who actually play a danged instrument and I know these wonderfully creative women would appreciate what it has to offer. Then they could do their thing without dealing with all the talking down to/mansplaining they have to deal with working with meatworld musicians.

We've lost Mama Bear (Janet), Julibee and Katie Katie too.

But, at least, we've still got Carissa Swenson!

(She says "Hi!")

Actually, now you mention it, I haven't seen Laura ('Skinnybones Lampshade') at Songs for a while either. I like her stuff.

I just saw a post of hers up in the SONAR forum.

She does some extremely cool organic stuff as does Mr. Screed. Very indie IMO.

It was fun a time ago but not much reason to come around the CH anymore. Happy trails to my friends here and thanks for the memories.

Let me see if I understand this: after 10,114 posts, Bill decides to move on?

Bill, have a good 'un, whatever you do. And while I'm at it, have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

Even Karyn doesn't stop by any more...

I don't blame her.

Karyn still stops by, but she's been a little busy recently.

Why is she talking in 3rd person??

Stop it!!

As I was saying,  I've been a little busy since getting a job on sound with these guys....

Last month we were at Pinewood Studios for a Sir Rodger Moore memorial event, next month we're playing to a full house at Camberley Theatre with an expanded version of the band with 26 members...  That's going to be fun.

Thanks Kenny,
I wish I could claim some of the brownie points for those vids, but they were all from before I joined.
The band is going from strength to strength and gaining quite a following.   The first 6 shows next year our usual compare is being replaced by Madeline Smith (Live And Let Die) or Caroline Munro (The Spy Who Loved Me).
