  • Anyone using a Saffire 24 or 40 (mix control) with a Behringer HA800 Headphone amp? Help!

Maybe I am misunderstanding it but...   This headphone amp has a couple ways to do things,  it has 2 main in's (and I have these working) so I can set up 2 different mixes sending one out of my mix control to each feed, then on each headphone line (it has 8) I can choose which mix I want to hear from those cans.  That far I got, I had to run 2 cables (a left and right) for each mix.

Then, on the back of the ha8000 each channel (headphone line) has a direct in, so I could send it 8 individual feeds (separate mixes).  I bought an 8 channel TRS to TRS snake thinking that with TRS I am sending a stereo signal for each so that is all I'd need...?
My Saffire pro 40 has 8 or 10 outputs on the back so I figured cool, I can create up to 8 mixes in the mix control software, send each to a single out, run my TRS cable to the corresponding direct in on the Behringer and have up to 8 monitors mixes (if needed).     Seems the Saffire pro 40 sends them in stereo requiring 2 cables.  For instance, Mix #1  goes out on outputs 7&8 (left & right) Rather than a single TRS cable sending both from 7 (leaving 8 open for mix #2).  So in this case....  I'd need adapters to fold the 2 mono lines into 1 TRS to input on my headphone amp, which also means I can't run as many separate mixes because I only have so many outputs from Saffire pro 40.

Does anyone follow me here?  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks!!!!

My guess is that you are just realizing that the TRS connectors on the Saffire are balanced mono while the 8 direct input TRS connectors on the Behringer are unbalanced stereo.

Seems like you have stated that you have all the info you need.

You are going to end up with a bunch of Y-chords if you want to use those connectors to provide stereo monitoring.

best regards,

I called Focusrite, That is the issue & we got it solved.  I can send the Behringer the 2 main stereo feeds (using 4 of my 10 outputs) and then I would have up to 6 other mixes (provided they are mono mixes) that I can send.  It get's the job done either way.
