I bought another Waves plugin and went to install it.  But Waves said I had to upgrade to v10 with their Waves Central.  And I did.
But when I opened Sonar, none of my Waves plugins work now.   And several Waves plugins can't be found.   They are all in Waves Central, but not in Sonar.

I did a VST scan of existing and failed plugins, but that didn't help.   I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Greg

Same thing happened to me. All plugins installed but only A's through G's showed up. I had to delete the waves audio cache data. (hold down windows key and press R (that brings up RUN), type %localappdata% and press OK, Click on Waves Audio folder, then click on Instl folder and delete the Cache folder. After that, re-install all waves plugins. (I think they actually already updated them to 10.0.15) Then, in Sonar's plugin manager, RESET ALL in the VST configuration options. Finally, Re-scan VST plugins. That is what worked for me. I was in a tracking session when I realized over half of my plugins were gone! 😳

It's actually happened to me twice.  Not sure why Waves does this when updating.
Thank you!

I had no issues with upgrading Waves from v9 to v10.

I suspect in your case it's one particular Waves plugin that is failing the first time around, which either succeeds on the second scan, or is marked as "failed" allowing the rest of the plugins to be scanned.

That could be.  I emailed Waves and asked them to see if they had any solutions.  Still have not heard back from them.   If I don't - or if they don't have a solution - I'll use Blogospherianman's suggestion.

Thanks!

I sent them an email with my same basic problem 5 days ago...no reply.

I'll say it again, I've never encountered more install/update issues than I have with Waves.  It is unfortunate that they make some of my favorite plugins (once working), otherwise I wouldn't give them a dime.

I almost hate buying Waves plugins for issues like this.  I do buy the ones that I feel will do me the most good but I hold my breath every time I install them.  They also have a lot of gall expecting you to pay for tech support (IIRC, it's something like $8.00 per plugin per year after the first year.  That kinda sucks!).  One thing I've been doing that might be helping me (and you might want to try) is disabling my anti virus and security program temporarily during the install.  I use Webroot which can easily be disabled and re enabled by choice.

Also, have you tried calling them by phone?  If you have your plugins covered under their Update Plan you can call them and they will repair your situation via live Team Viewer software (they actually get into your computer remotely and fix the problem).  I tried this and it works very well (if you're not squeamish about having somebody else inside your computer).  Just another suggestion.

Went through this V9 to V10 upgrade with a glitch that I solved. After I upgraded my qualifying plug-ins to version 10, I mistakenly made the choice to remove all my version nine plug-ins. What I didn’t realize was that not all my version nine plug-ins qualified to be upgraded to version 10 plug-ins. Therefore, all my version nine plug-ins disappeared. The V10 plugs installed and are working fine.

I reinstalled my missing V9 plugs with the offline installer I downloaded here https://www.waves.com/downloads/v9. It has every legacy plug; you just need the license to activate it on your machine. I suppose I could’ve done it through Waves Central...

Had to re-grab my licenses via Waves Central. Now all is well. Hope that helps.

No problems here updating a mix of v9 and 10 plugins (I have about 20 total, six of which updated to v10).

When I ran Waves Central, I was prompted to DL the latest version of WC, which I did... Ran it, and let it update the plugins.  I had to check a few boxes (I don't recall the exact steps, but it seemed intuitive enough).  It took about ten minutes to finish, then after moving all my plugs from the cloud back to my PC, everything was there.

Bottom line, I'm using the latest Waves Central and it is managing both v9 and 10 plugins together.  I've tested loading a few v9 and 10 plugs and am not seeing any problems.  I have no idea why my update went without a hitch, but I thought I'd mention it to show that not everyone is experiencing problems.
