  • How to determine the value of a 1998 Collector's Edition Telecaster? (p.3)

Hi Tom,

That is the "Collector's Edition" 1998 telecaster. I'll get some better pics in the light today.

Also, that is a real-deal 1964 Fender Super Reverb.  It is the best amp I've ever owned and will be with me until I'm dead - or I lose my hands in some freak knife juggling accident!

I think this amp is way under-rated, and I'm "super" glad to hear another person thinks the way I do about it!

That looks sweet (both of them).

Nice. I really like the sort of combination of vintage and modern vibes.

While I'm not a big gold trip person - the mother of pearl markers are really nice. The neck has a good curve to it and is a joy to play. I've always thought of telecasters as country guitars, but this gets a fantastic rock tone - much to my surprise. I went in to GC and played a brand new $1,400 telecaster and this one just blew that away. I don't care for the flat necks, finish, and fretwork of the new ones...

I think you're looking at Abalone on the dots and oval there James.
And yes it is (your new Tele) quite handsome (both my Grosh's have the Abalone dots).
Boy did I totally misread your every post in this thread, I thought you were selling in the first post.
Oh well, its the internet; right?
We all know how that works!
(I just hate being the "guilty" party)

I totally know how you feel Tom - no worries here!

Thanks for the correction on the Abalone inlays. They sure add a nice touch...

Nice Axe!!! Good luck with it. I have a '67 Super Reverb and I couldn't agree more.
