I just uploaded a new version.  Mostly I stood back farther from the mic and I also ran it through Ozone to try to widen the sound.  Is it any better?

Much! Now, that sounds like a rain stick.
You captured some really nice samples on this round.

After you posted the original, I realized that my rain stick needed a little maintenance.
It's almost twenty years old, and the tiny wires were slowly creeping out of the holes in the cactus. I drove them all back in, and set them with a drop of superglue.

It's better?  Well, thank you for listening, Bob!  I'm glad it's better.  (and glad I finally did this before I have to give the rain stick up!)  :)  Now to see if some inspiration will come along with it.  :)

Glad you got yours all fixed up too.

I suppose you could EQ a bit if you wanted to also.

Now, all you have to do is apply to the song "Singin' in the Rain"!

Thanks.  Maybe I'll try that too.

Just got a cough and sore throat, so it would be croaking in the rain right now. :)

If it were me...........
I would just sample the Door's "Rider in the Storm" and be done with it.....

Well, you know me, Cliff.  I wouldn't even know how to do that!  lol

Well I've learned something here. I'd never heard of a rain stick before. Quite a few neat ones for sale on the various usual sites. Interesting.

I'm not at home right now but I'm pretty sure there is a Rain Stick sample library out there that I got for free.

I know that's not what you wanted Janet but this thread just reminded me of that and I may need to just use it soon.
