Thanks for the replies and pretty unanimous advice. Now I just have to make the buy now or later decision.

I am considering getting a Roland Quad Capture. I have an ESI Juli@ card installed. I understand only one ASIO device can be used at once, but should I remove the Juli@ before connecting the Quad Capture?

@Jim
Hi Jim, One ASIO device?
I have been considering a Octo Cap to add to my VS700 rig. So just to be clear. Were only talking one device for outputs right?

Thanks!
Binny

One device period.
You cannot have 2 ASIO drivers running.
But
It is not a problem to hot swap interfaces, I used to do it all the time. Sonar will first warn you that you have unpluged device #1, then when you plug in device #2 ask if you wish to use it.
It's just not possible with a PCI card, only USB ( firewire?)
So you can use 2 interfaces, you just cannot use them at the same time.

Hi Binny,

Some manufacturers allow multiple (like) audio interfaces to run under a single ASIO driver.
Thus, the multiple audio interfaces function as a singular unit (additional units adding I/O).
Thus, you can use a VS700 and OctoCapture simultaneously (running the ASIO driver).

Thanks Jim. I figured with a coaxial connection I would be OK. But I needed to be sure.

You da man.

This forum is a life saver. Without the hole of course.
