Hi all... I've got a few Sonar 6 backing tracks for clarinet solos with my own complex piano arrangements. For years I've been just burning backup CD's for the sound guys at church to play behind my live clarinet. The piano in that situation is the Gigapiano Yamaha C7 sample.

But- the church has a Yamaha 7' grand with a Disklavier of about 2007 vintage, and nobody ever uses the player. I would really like to send my Sonar piano track to the Disklavier, everything else audio to the sound system, and play clarinet with it. Of course I could do that directly from the laptop (MIDI out to piano, audio out to sound system). But Sonar does on rare occasions hiccup and stop (because of ASIO4ALL?). That would be no fun in a live performance.

So I thought it would be easier and more reliable all around to create a Disklavier CD with the piano track and the sychronized other instruments- ready to play at push of a button. And I went Google searching for "create Disklavier from Sonar" and such, but found nothing that looked helpful. That brings me here. Anybody know how to do this? I'm playing tomorrow morning!

Thanks!

To see and hear an example of my work (including Sonar screen capture), go to YouTube and search for "Stan Kelley He Never Sleeps", and you should find the video I'm talking about. The link got removed from my original post.

Searching Google came up with MIDI2PianoCD which writes a CD in the appropriate format. The web page even discusses using SONAR with the application.

Your search was better than mine. That looks like what I need. I'll post here how it goes.

Thanks!

I searched for "disklavier cd format" because I wanted to know more about what the requirements were. The MIDI2PianoCD was a lucky hit.

How come your link showed but mine disappeared? ...because I just signed up?

Yeah, there is a restriction on posting links until you get to a certain post count. It is one of the anti-spam features implemented in the new forum software.
