The best thing about this song is the honesty.

I can tell that you are a person of introspection, and I think that is a good thing.  Reflection is good.

Sure, there a things you might do to tweak it, but for raw truth, and concrete realization, you nailed it.

It is you,

I say, one of the best tunes I have heard on the forum... ever.  I mean that too.

naked soul exposed for the willing

Everything's going to be alright, you're moving in the affirmative direction.

Thank you. Yeah, the ending on this version is kind of abrupt. I intend to flesh it out more.

Thank you!

I really appreciate the comments. They brought me out of a bit of a funk.

This has a nice honest feel to the lyrics and the playing, yes a little bit of Mic placement would help the vocals.  One trick you could try is sing over the top of your mic I find that helps one of the singers I record now and again.

Beautiful - well-written and played tune. The vocals are a bit upfront - other than that - this is a real gem.

Bjorn, this is a super song with great 3am lyrics.  I noticed that the reverb sort of highlights the small clicks and pops you're concerned about.  Two ideas; one, cut back on the reverb and go as dry as you can stand, and, two, perhaps try singing through a Shure 57?  Dynamic mics are more forgiving for some singers.  If you used a dynamic mic on this, nevermind.

I can identity with those lyrics Bjorn, 2 - 3am is my standard 'wake up & worry' time. Nicely done
