That sounds pretty good. More like a completed track than a demo. I've always thought you have a great vocal style. Something perhaps to do with your voice and how you treat it. Sounds really smooth.

Hello, this sounds like a Peter Gabriel track, to me.  I love it!  Like some of his tracks, the vocal processing masks the lyrics, but it's OK when your voice is the main instrument.  This is the kind of music that trips my triggers.  Well done, unless you remix it, then I'll be back.

Sounds like it's already a full on production to me. Sometimes I wish I could do this sort of thing.

I liked listening to this Music very much it is so much different than what I do , I was able to just sit back and go along for the ride ...

I'd center the bass more, or even have it envelop the listener. Drums are great, ready for some judicious compression. Vocals are perfect, though I'd pull them down a hair. The guitar solo sounds a little too HPF, you took too much mid out.
 
This is one of the best things I've heard you do, and I always love your stuff...

I like the song, nice job. Some thoughts on the mix:

Bass should pretty much always be dead center, it messes with the imaging to pan it off to one side.

The piano feels odd in the beginning, I think because it is so dry. It might fit better if you add a touch of verb to meld it in a bit. It feels off the most when it is against the wet vocals and pads. Just my opinion, I wouldn't soak it, just a touch more than whatever it has now to help it file into the space when the rest of the mix around it is so ethereal.

The drums could probably also get a tiny bit of a long verb to help them fit into the space. You could tuck that drum verb in quietly with some pre-delay to avoid smearing the attack on the drums, or sidechain the verb with the drums to duck it behind the drums so it just adds some tail.

I think it might be a good experiment to sidechain the other breathy pad type sounds that are in the same frequency range as the vocal and duck them behind the vocal a few e.g.. They fight a bit and it sounds cloudy. You could also try to get some of the way with more stereo panning of the backing layers. 0:30 for where ducking might help. 1:26 - 1:30 (backing vox) and 1:45 - 2:00 where panning might be interesting and help make some more space for things.

Love the guitar at 2:17, reminds me a tiny bit of Prince. The more I listen, the more I like the song.

Would you care to share what the tracks are composed of? What are the drums and bass, and did you record all the vox tracks?

Thanks Andy, Lynn, Daryl, Optimus and Kenny for listening.  I didn't feel like it was really finished yet so that's why i left 'demo' in the title.  In particular, I feel like the vocals after the 3 minute mark may need re-work, and in general the EQ is still a work in process.
 
Dan and Groove, thank you very much for the constructive feedback.  Very valuable.  I'll do what you both suggested -- although I have never gotten the hang of ducking, so I might just ride the levels a bit and pursue the panning.  I have struggled with the piano sound quite a bit so I've kind of lost perspective on it.  I'll try again.
 
The drums are a mix of many different loop libraries that I've lost track of (I'm not in front of the DAW right now).  'Cinematic percussion' loops in some parts.  The bridge drums are the bundled Session Drummer with Sonar and the MIDI pattern from the 'progressive' MIDI folder included with the software.  The bass is DImension Pro, a chorused bass patch I believe.  
 
The vox are three main sources: my own, a choir patch from DIM Pro and a new synth from Output called 'Exhale' -- it is really nice, providing a swelling Beach Boy choir sound in parts.  On my own vocals, I process them heavily including some Mvocoder in spots.  I do the reverse reverb effect quite a bit, where I flip the vocal, put a big echo on it and flip it back.

Yeah...  I liked this.    I'm getting a bit of that Gabriel vibe too.   Nothing to add mix-wise which is covered above, so I'll just add that it was a really cool arrangement and blend of parts weaving in and out.   I thought the arps really worked well in this context.   Oh, and the "reverse" vocal pads were a nice touch.
