Hi Jim, both my Firewire input on 2 buses are TI.
 
One bus is the Liquid Saffire 54, the 2nd bus is used with my Liquid Mix set up. The Focusrite site says Liquid Mix wont work with Sonar 8.5 but somewhere along the way it must have been fixed because as soon as I got it set up on its own bus it has worked like a champ.

what are you using for the Firewire controller?
My guess is it's not Texas Instruments...
