Does anyone know if you can  trigger a soft synth from, let's say a kick drum ? I know you can use a side chain compressor to create different effects on different tracks but can you use the drum beat as a input to trigger a different soft synth or another track to add another kick drum ? I had some tracks that were audio drums and I wanted to add a midi drum kick to match the audio kick using audio snap but couldn't figure out how to make it trigger the midi kick ... is this possible ?

Thanks
Steve

id personally use autosnap.
watch this video.

even with a weak kick drum, you can pick up the transients.
once detected they can be turned in to a midi sample. with this sample you can use it to trigger any drum via softsynth ala session drummer, dimension pro, exc.
as shown in this video.

its one of the reasons autosnap was put in to sonar.
then again I don't see your specs so I may just be wasting both yours and my time if you don't have sonar and instead music creator, sonar homestudio, exc.

Thanks Chuck ... I knew there had to be a way ... I have sonar X2a producer ... I don't think there is much that can't be done with this DAW if you only know how to. I'm new to this program so I'm in that big learning curve of all this has and can do.
