For those interested in a side by side comparison, here's one:

soundcloud streaming is NOT the way to compare a before and after scenario.

It's like listening on NS-10 speakers.  Why wont it give you a decent idea?  I admit it's not the BEST circumstances, but it's A circumstance that many people have.

it is not like listening on NS-10's in any way whatsoever.
at least, none of the ns-10's i've worked with....

i like the 'without landr' version best.
based on a very low quality streaming.

it 'breathes' more thru the downgrading of the streaming.

On both of them?  I agree on the first one, the non-landr sounds better but on the second I think the landr sounds better.  Gotta pick and choose.

well, i only listened to 'beloved',
pre and post landr.

i think the unmastered file sounded fuller, more dynamic, it breathed more,
is the only way i can explain it....

the mastered version felt a bit flattened,
and was not as exciting to listen to.

I agree.  But perhaps there's a distinction:  1.  some recordings need to sound live in order to convey the feeling (viz processed) while others sound better qua recorded (this might apply to certain genres for instance) and 2.  Acoustic instruments might sound better without landr (?)

how much of that recording is done with actual live instruments?

There's nothing Landr can do that you can't do yourself, inside Sonar.
