I didn't know Cakewalk was owned by Gibson...I thought they were part of Roland or Steinberg....but it doesn't make much difference to me.  I've heard all kinds of raves about other programs, but I've been using Cakewalk for almost 25 years, and the only limitations I can see are borne by the computer itself.  And Windows.
