This is the last song for my CD of cover songs.
I'm having some trouble nailing the mix, any suggestions/comments would be appreciated!

Excellent. Bass may be just a tad too loud (blasphemy for a bass player to say, I'm sure) and I'd like to hear just a tad more oomph on that excelent kick.

Great vocal.

Wow. Great stuff. Really nice performances well recorded and mixed. My only criticism is the high-hat/ride - gets a little distracting after a while. I found that's all I could concentrate on by the end of the song.
Also, love the clav.

This is a terrific cover.  I had the pleasure of hearing Johnny play this in KC, and you captured the essential soul of his performance.  Congratulations and job well done.

Thanks Daryl! You know, that hihat is one of the things I've had the most trouble with. I think I need to lower the threshold on my drum buss compressor. I've turned the dang thing down on successive mixes and it's still too loud, but if I go much lower it just disappears. Oh well, part of the fun....
Thanks again!!

Thanks a lot Lynn! I'd love to see him live!

Well I don't know if you tweaked it yet but on my computer speakers it's a good balanced mix.
I listen to a lot of commercial mixes on these generic speakers so I think I can trust what I'm hearing.
I like the bass just where it is as bass is the blues!
I can hear each instrument clearly and find nothing overwhelming.
Might want that organ to come out just a bit more , maybe in a few spots feature it.
Great guitar work and vocals. it's a 99.9'r from this boy's  viewpoint.

Down and dirty - love it! Good mix. Your voice is right on and the choir sounds so good you might want to punch it through a little more. Band kind of disappears on the bridge, but overall this track works like a locomotive.

this is a good cover of a classic Lang tune....

i'd have to agree with earlier comments, the bass is a bit too much....
and i think the clavinet part sounds too 'plinky'....
too much high end attack, i'd mellow that out a bit,
and bring down the cymbals/hats, get rid of those high end sore thumbs,
and the whole mix should come together

great performances!
