I am traveling at the moment and away from my DAW. This is the time I start day dreaming of things I can add, typically this has resulted in plugin G.A.S. but me mind is moving more to hardware these days. The DAW performs pretty well and I would like to get at least another year out of it before replacing it. The only real frustration is how long some of the larger third party Kontakt libraries take to load.

I assume Would a SSD drive help? As I do not have any free drive bays are their any pitfalls in connecting a SSD drive to the eSATA port? If it would all work, the cost of getting all the samples on SSD would be prohibitive so I would probably keep copies of my most used big libraries on the SSD.

Hi Glyn,

SSD really shines when used for (high-polyphony) disk-streaming of samples.
SSD will work fine via eSATA.
If you don't have an eSATA port on the motherboard, you can get an eSATA bracket... which connects to an internal SATA port.
