Wrote the lyrics on Brighton beach 27 years ago. It was a hot and sunny afternoon and I was bunking off work along with countless others, not wanting to waste a gorgeous Wednesday in a stuffy office. Was into Chris Rea at the time, and loved his song On The Beach. Recorded it just this month. Would love to hear your thoughts on the mix and production - I loved playing my bass guitar on this one

Bill, this is terrific.  Is this Scottish reggae?  I'm a big fan of your voice and lyrlcs, and I like the fact that your songs are smart and dripping with soul.  I take back what I said about "Tigers", you have plenty of depth in your productions, as I discovered by listening on different playback systems.  This is a gem, and my only suggestion would be to put a few soft notes in your tom rolls to make it a little less perfect.  Kudos!

Scottish reggae... I like it.

Sounds good!  Definitely has a cool vibe to it, not quite one thing or the other.   And the "roasting" line almost has that Scottish rolled "r" to it.

Sounding good! Definite sunny day mood going on. Chris Rea - haven't listened to him in a long time, must rectify that.

Not one of my favorites of yours, but you continue to amaze with your lyrics.  Carry on soldier of peace.

Thanks for all your feedback and encouragement. I'm in the midst of moving house, so will be less active on this forum for a couple of weeks. Once settled I look forward to listening to more of your songs and commenting as and when I feel I can contribute!

Cheers all,
Bill
