Hi, guys, and long time no see!
Right now, the big part of my work in Sonar is going to be a series of short clips (between 20s and 2m. This one is 30s) of sort of film-music stuff. This here is the first for the year.
https://soundcloud.com/davewesleyrecordings/a-heroic-comeback Give me tips on the mix, arrangement, etc! I used REAL horns here (trumpet, 3 flugels and 4 trombones), and recorded electric guitar to sort of 'augment' the reality of whole thing, since everything else is synths. I think for a roughly 8-hr project, it sounds pretty okay, but please let me know what you think!
I'm not sure exactly how many of these tracks I'll make, but I'm doing it to get performance/recording experience on for my horns, learn the best ways to arrange, record and mix this kind of music, and build up a sizable repertoire of show-off material so I can get on-board some game design projects.
Thanks!
