Monte Hall has passed away. He was 96 (!).

I've got you on that. While it's sad that he's passed on, it's kind of nice to know he lived a long, full life. 
 
I never did find out what was behind Door #2, however. My life feels a little bit incomplete because of this.

My dad got on the show.
 
He dressed up as a Mounty. His (dad) reasoning was that Monty was Canadian and thus would pick him. He did.
 
Dad made a mistake (in the end). Chose the wrong door when he could have come away with all major household appliances.
