Hi, it's been...well, years since I've posted a song here so I thought I'd swing by and see what's going on! I hope everyone is doing well. Here's a song I've been working on. If you've got a minute, have a listen and let me know where I've gone wrong (umm...didn't they use to have a way to insert a URL?). Well, I'm just gonna paste the URL and hope that's how it's done these days

Wow, this is lovely stuff Gary! Really like your octave playing, and the phrasing throughout, sweet tones too. Top job!

Guitar tones alone make this a must listen. Fabulous.

Then the jazz changes, then the rhythm shifts, plus blues, plus cool improv runs. Loved it all.

Mix ideas: maybe bring the organ volume up, add just a little swing to your hi-hats when they are doing triplets (check out 3:03 area), and maybe a few mini-fills as your drums progress so the pattern isn't quite so static or machine like. The drums are great but  they could uses a "spice" hit now and again, to keep up with the buoyancy of the guitar lines.

And the weakest part of the tune I think is the very beginning. Starts pretty naked.

OK, the walking bass part at the end is absolutely awesome!!! The bass is on the quiet side but wow, what a cool ending.

Thank you for posting this, really cool.

When I first heard this, I thought WOW, I must be dreaming.  My first guitar teacher played a lot like you, in the great jazz tradition.  I'll be listening some more because you just can't get enough of this stuff.

This is fantastic!  I always hope kennywtele will do something like this.  But it would be churlish for me to ask him.  I can listen to this stuff all day long, it's what I grew up with (viz my dad).
