why do you use that intrusive time wasting POS software?

SOCIAL MEDIA? nothing social about fb, people need to use the SPOKEN word and look into each others face to communicate, also its all about everybody's 15 minutes of fame

I use it primarily to chat with friends in other countries, mostly using the private messenger thingummy. Quite handy for sending/receiving photos and song links. I very rarely post anything about myself publicly, but I occasionally leave comments if it's something that interests me.

I can appreciate your use of it, James, because it doesnt seem your glued to the hip of fb. Too many peoples lives are too intertwined and immersed in social media, if the internet broke tomorrow  and fb went away many people would break down.

My nephew was here for a few days this week. He's literally, never off FB. His phone is always out, he's forever scrolling through it, mid conversation, while watching a movie, during dinner, constantly. If I ever I log in, he's there with that green button against his name. It ain't healthy.

But obsessively posting in the CH is still okay, ya?

I call FB and the others "social disease" sites.  I only have a Facebook account (which is as locked down as I can get it) so I can have a business account attached.  Even then they badger you like crazy, even with most things turned off.

Since I started working with it from a business point of view, I can really see just how invasive they are with your personal data.  If I want to target ads directly to 17 year-old boys who have a disability, like darker colors and have frogs as pets, I probably could and STILL have further narrowing possible if necessary!  Scary stuff.

I spend far too much time on FB these days.
With the lack of spare time in my life, along with friends making babies that take all THEIR time, and having family around the world, I still appreciate it.
It also slightly increases awareness of my music (and hopefully revenue), and keeps me in contact with musicians that want to play with me.  this is important now that my job prevents me from late nights at the bars.

Don't BOINK me - the "far too much time" i spend is when I'm at work.  It doesn't touch the "after work" time that I don't have enough of.
