Another project finished. This one written by Shorty Medlocke. My cousin David Munn did the drum track for me, although I haven't actually seen him since we were adolescents, well over 40 years. The wonder of internet collaboration. I did everything else. Of course, feedback is encouraged: how's the mix? Do the lead guitars stand out? That sort of thing. there's simply too much guitar, because I couldn't find anyone to do harmonica for me. Here it is:

Thanks for listening.
Play it LOUD!

Sounds pretty good.

Mixwise:
Vocals may be a tad loud, yet very well executed and clear.
Bass could have more balls. Too rubberbandy sounding to my ears.
Lead guitar could come up about 2-3db IMO.

Performances:
No crits.

Ed, how would you suggest I fix the bass short of retracking it? I'm not areal bass player, you know.
If you ever find yourself in need of a singing guitar player out there in TO, for a jam session or whatever, let me know. I'm retired now, and consider myself available

I really enjoyed this - performances are great. Your voice suits this style.
Tell your cousin he did a great job.

Liking the slide guitar Mark, nice one  Kick drum sounds waay over in the right channel, I'd pull that in to the centre. Excellent performances, you enjoyed yourself on this!

I wan't meaning what you played but the tone of the bass. It's as if you high passed at about 500HZ (exaggerated of course). There was very little bottom on my end.

What you played was nice.

that's exactly what I thought you meant, Ed. It is possible I rolled off a bit too much. On my home entertainment center it comes out bass heavy (I know, NOT your optimal speakers, I'm just saying). I appreciate the specific comments.

Thanks, Phil. I think I pretty much suck on slide, but I seem to have pulled this one off.

Overall I liked it.  Solid performances all around and good arrangement.  The only mix nits I would have are the kick drum way over on the right as James mentioned, and the lead could maybe be a little more up-front.  Vocals sound great!
