Both plugins work fine, but the standalone apps both hard crash immediately on launch. It looks like it's the Cakewalk "Microhost" that's the problem (presumably the standalone VST host wrapper).

Anyone else seeing this? I hope there'll be an update, or it will be fixed with a Lion update. Thanks!

Hi dswtan,

I run Rapture and Dim Pro standalones on the same version of OSX without an issue.  The AU microhosts are based off of your settings within Core Audio and Core MIDI go to Utilities | Audio MIDI Setup inside of OSX and double check your configuration, maybe an audio driver setting is causing this?

Thanks chad -- good idea, but I can't see anything wrong there. It was set to default to the headphones output of my iMac, so should be using the built-in audio driver. I do have an additional USB audio output device, but it's not being used in this case, and swapping over to it anyway also causes the same problem.

Good to hear it's working for you -- anyone else?

Can you load the audiounits in any other host?  Garage Band?

Try resetting your audiounit cache.

Locate this file and delete:

*user*/library/caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache

LOL - didn't get a chance to address this again until now (plugins worked fine). I fixed it! All I needed to do was to re-install. Doh. I have seen this occasionally in other Mac software too - maybe just some copy-protected ones, but in case it helps others: if you get a crash on app start-up when it used to work before (maybe on an earlier update of MacOS), just try a re-install of the app. For simple things like plug-ins, this is quick to try. Thanks again chad for your helpful suggestions above and sorry for the long-delayed follow-up.
