Personally I'd do it if I had the time and didn't have a lot of experience, especially to create some buzz about my services. Just make sure to have some flyers or business cards ready for when people ask. Also an emailing list. Walking away with 100 new email addresses of potential clients or fans can be worth far more in the long run.

If you feel some hesitation about it then I would not do it. The saying: " No good deed goes unpunished" really is true. Doing something for free will cost you something and it could cost you more than you thought it would. Are you willing to pay that cost?

If you do it once and this is an annual event then you could be asked to do it again. Would you be willing to do this annually?

The advertising you might get this way could be benificial so it is a way to help and be helped.

If saying yes feels right then I would, but I wouldn't  feel bad about saying the no word if it applies either.

I meet with the organizer yesterday at the site. Everything looks legit, brand new venue. Both of our expectation have been clearly defined. Looking forward to doing the gig
