Hi all, //I was hoping to find some more electronic dance music based mixing and mastering tutorials specifically for SONAR X2. //It seems that SONAR users for the most part seem to be more geared towards recording live instruments, as these are the majority of tutorials, tips and tricks I've found regarding SONAR. //The latest SWA SONAR X2 Mix Clinic I bought from the Cakewalk store was great - as it used a Dubstep track as an example - albeit a bit short and the fact that all the tracks were already bounced to audio threw me off a bit. Can anyone help? //My preferred genres are generally the harder/faster styles of electronic dance music e.g. hardcore, hard drum n bass etc... //Many thanks in advance for your replies!!! //PS: If you also would want to write in your tips and tricks - instead of for example linking me to a youtube video - I would be equally grateful! //PPS: My apologies for the format of this post but there seems to be some bug on my end :S Used forward slashes to signify new paragraphs.

Hi there mike_321. A good source of multitracks is here at this link.

http://www.cambridge-mt.com/ms-mtk.htm

Go down to the Dance/Electronic Music section and try downloading some sessions from there. You can listen to the tracks first before downloading. These could prove to be a good source of material for practicing with.

Sorry link above was incorrect but is fixed now.

Here is a tutorial from Groove 3 on Electronic Music Production which could also be good:

Would like to credit Mike Senior for putting in the time and effort to create and maintain the multitrack download library. A great resource and I highly recommend his book Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio.

Cheers!

(On a side note, try using Chrome so you can actually write paragraphs here.  Firefox doesn't seem to work.)

OH, right, thank you so much! I do in fact use Firefox and it used to work but not anymore! A bit annoying I have to install Chrome just for writing in this forum though, as I use Firefox for everything else which works perfectly fine and I've grown accustomed to it... Hopefully Cakewalk will fix this soon? I'll try and do a bug report.
