Last night I had latency from my Alesis Crimson Mesh drum kit to Sonar and it was corrected by help from everyone here.  Thought I would post the song and thanks everyone for helping me.

It wouldn't even let me put a link in because it said I haven't posted enough.

Thanks, yes I added too much compression on the drums, I hear clipping occasionally.

Welcome to the forums Nathaniel! You have a very good voice! The song is great too! Thanks for the post. You might give a listen to putting a low end filter on the bass or lower it just a tad in the mix. Experimentation is the key! Thank you for sharing

Thank you, I really look forward to learning more. I'm a novice in recording and I'm trying to learn so much at once. I am right now watching a sonar x2 video on Lynda tutorials online and also at the same time watching videos about audio engineering and mic placements etc. One thing I wish I had is SMPTE on my DSLR camera that way I could align the bass and electric. I use Adobe premiere pro for video editing and I was able to synchronize the audio from the camera mic with Sonar audio, but with electric and bass creating little sound I had to try to align it by guess work which didn't work out that well. I may try a clapboard and do a count on each track and for each track hit the clapboard at the same time. Unless someone else has a better idea, and not too expensive.

Welcome to the forum Nathaniel!

For being a novice in recording, you've done an excellent job on this track. All instruments were cleanly recorded, especially the vocals and acoustic were tracked very well. I agree with Bill on the bass.......also, possibly easing up on the compression and/or EQing might help reduce that muffled snare.....needs a little more sparkle.

Very good thing you got going here Nathaniel and would love to hear more your stuff.
