When using Melodyne as an ordinary VST in the FX-bin you can access automation lanes for the pitch, formant and volume knobs found at the top right of the Melodyne interface.
 
Using Melodyne with ARA is superior to using it as a VST, though. The sad thing is that automating these three main knobs isn't possible when using Melodyne as a Region FX..
 
I think it would be cool if we were able to do this.. ..and the most logical way of implementing this (IMO) would be to have it in the Clip Automation menu.

Makes sense to me.    Not sure whether ARA itself supports automation, but if so this would be a logical thing to do.
