She has moved up to a cat 5 (since this AM)......seems that most stores have already run out of hurricane supplies. I suppose seeing the amount of damage Harvey has caused, everyone's stocking up early. I was planning on getting water and some canned foods from Costco (today after work), but I heard they've also run out of water.

Not sure whether to hunker down (having someone give an estimate on boarding up the windows today) or flee the area ......the downside of living in Fl.

Yeah..   I'm annoyed.  Harvey was terrible.   I hope this turns out to be a dud.   Recently I broke a finger doing brazillian jiu Jitsu - first broken finger of 20 years of mixed martial arts..    I am unable to move my plants and furniture inside from my outdoor patio/garden...    I do have a friend coming at 2pm to help a little.   but it is going to be very hard for me to do cleanup with a broken finger.

I'm very upset.   I also need to purchase water, food..    all kinds of stuff and arrg my hand hurts

Stay safe out there!

We're dealing with at least 74 wild fires in five states out here, the smoke is oppressive and ashes were falling yesterday under a dark orange sun.  If only the rain would balance out between the South and the Pacific Northwest, we'd both be better off!

I used to be friends with a guy named John - he and his wife live in Port St. Lucie.   A few months back on Facebook I told John, "he was stupid, he should f himself."   We are no longer friends...   surely he and his wife still live in PSL

Oh wait. No I don't. I'm actually rather concerned and anxious.

Stay safe Irmaites. Not cool.

Heart bleeds for all the damage and disruptions so many are experiencing. Got our share here with our place falling into rot over the cliff, but still a couple months before our share of 100 mph winds and the water deluge.

Stay safe guys. Really hope and pray that the series of storms, Irma, Jose in the wings curve back into the Atlantic. You are like here, one disaster trying to recover before the next disaster takes us to our knees.

Strange and surreal days out here on the Oregon Coast. Fires and smoke making the sun orange all day.

I was in St Martin last year, and LOVED it.  Possibly my favourite place in the world.
It's hard to look at some of the photos, seeing the destruction of places I got to know well.

The rains have begun.  I just spent the day locking up shutters and bringing in my plants that were in pots..   Unfortunately I have tons of plants in the ground and I don't know if they will survive.   To make matters worse..  I have a client who needs help with her hurricane shutters tomorrow morning - and because my finger is shattered I've decided to leave town - I have not been able to find water at any of the stores, and I can't sit in my house with the air conditioner off - assuming my power goes out which is probably like a 99% chance of happening.

Florida concrete block houses are like pizza ovens when the power goes out and the central air goes off.
