And just so it's clear I was not referring to "anthropogenic" (man made) climate change with my fartiness (although I am convinced we are indeed at least a factor in what's goin' on). I was saying that the very real, measurable and proven fact that temps have and are indeed increasing is indisputable (whether it's a natural phenomena or not). Denying that is indeed a fartable offense IMO.
This is (although yanked from Wiki) NASA data...
Now we can dispute whether NASA is a reliable source but considering this jibes with pretty much all other data (aside from perhaps extremely dubious and shadily funded data) I'mma gonna have to say going down THAT particular rabbit hole is getting close to flat earther territory.
So, ya... whether climate change is man made or not can be theoretical argued but the facts is the facts. Things are heating up for whatever reason (and faster than normal as compared to other drastic climate change events such as ice ages and whatnot... coinciding with the industrial revolution and going back further other key events). I won't argue that here because that topic has become "political" for some dumb reason and I, as a skeptic (as all science hounds should be), appreciate the awesome freakiness of nature and that it could very likely be some cosmic joke/coinkidink.
I do apologize to anyone that offends and I'm sure some here may find that abrasive (I know this place and I know my buds around here which is why I usually keep my derphole shut and just make stupid jokes about bapu's bunghole) but ya... facts should never be political and it is indeed relevant in this case.
Why? Because (no matter the cause) increased global temperatures lead to increased ocean temperatures and hurricanes are fueled by warm surface water on the open ocean. Which, unsurprisingly, is the case here. There has been a particular increase in temp off the south eastern coast of the US (26C which is a couple degrees higher than normal IIRC from what I read a few days ago) that is stirring all these whirly dirges of wet, airborne chaos.
Sooooo... my point is...
SCIENCE YO!
and also perhaps...
*fart*
:-p
