It's like another poster said...It's Skinnybones Lampshade.  Very catchy, if not a bit repetitive in the verse, nicely done.  Though, like I always say, bring up them drums a little!  Always love your stuff.

BASSJOKER (Steve): That was very nice of you; thanks! :)

Voda La Void: Thank you, too, for the kind words - I'm planning (but you know how plans go) to pay more attention to the drums next time :) Here's hoping I can force myself to do it!

Added two harmonies and tried to improve the drums ... but it all disappeared somehow .... guess it's true there's no cure for stupid [pointing at me].

Freddy J
This is a quirky number --- to me that is a good thing!!!  It is not just the interesting way that you present your vocals but when it started I thought that it had a bit of an almost reggae feel to it (primarily some of the drum fills and a touch of the keyboard) but some where around the middle of the song it seemed to transition slightly to a more pop (or something else) feel.  I thought that was either very cool or perhaps my imagination.  I'll go for cool.

I too liked the sparseness of this number and please put my vote down for some added harmonies.

Nice one!!!!

ABull
Hi Laura, this is a good demo of your song -- the vocals are upfront and understandable (and well performed), the mix is good and the arrangement is interesting.  (A nit:  too many snare hits repeating that kinda drag down the feel a bit.)  Your chord changes, as usual, are very interesting while your guitar playing is crisp and never ceases to intrigue the listener.

You're a unique singer/songwriter.  You're not a software hobbyist searching for that 'perfect' eq or a creator of sterile pastiche.  You've got soul.  Your demos sound fine.  Carry on.

I look forward to hearing you in 2017.
