I'm running mine through a stereo channel on my Midas Venice 32 and out an Output Group, so it's getting nice clean juice to head out to the powered speakers... :)

edit: I should add that mine has a built in preamp you can turn off or on. I run it on and use the Midas for a small amount of additional gain.

But yeah, some vinyl records are still magical. I can put on Joe Walsh County Fair and I'm instantly transported back to the 70's and stoned. It's not the same as playing from some newfangled digital source. :)

+1 on County Fair!  Love that song! So What is a great album... I got the all night Laundry mat blues...

Call me old fashioned but I want a turntable without the USB unless it's a transcriber and i can bounce my own stuff vinyl.

;-)

Once upon a time, I did want a Pro-Ject deck and phono interface. Although with so little vinyl now, it would be pointless really...

Yeah, I have ZERO interest in using the USB interface... I'd rather own the CD than a digitally ripped version from the vinyl.

As Analogue playback vinyl would be fine, so direct connection via audio connections is probably the way to go. Stick the noise below the noise floor with a high resolution recording. Then apply a noise gate at a low level, that's I would do. Just for those 12" singles you can't get now on any other format.

Funny though...they remastered (again?) The Beatles Seargent Pepper and have a vinyl version and double CD. Strange thing is, I have to buy it on import from Germany it seems.

Having a turntable is like having a boat - someone always has a bigger or better one.
