This storm that just passed was very surreal.  Things were so bad that you only knew what was going on immediately around you and what you saw on TV.

I saw this picture of I 10 east between Houston and Beaumont.  There are whitecaps.  You could surf.  This is a before and after.

Unbelievable.

Here's hopin' Irma heads north and doesn't go into the Gulf!  You guys have had your fill for the next 100 years.

It's been pretty bad. I was following a lot of the action on social media in real time as well. It was very heart tugging. I can say enough about how proud I am about how Texans came together to take care of there fellow man.

Of course, the fact that you're all allowed to pack heat has kept the looting to a minimum too.

I've been watching Irma VERY carefully as two days ago the predictions said it was heading directly for us here in Barbados - now its shifted and we're only going to get the edge of the hurricane - but the poor people in  Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla seem to have it heading directly for them - and its predicted to be a category 4 hurricane with wind gust up to 175 mph........I really feel for them,  as I have been on a Caribbean Island when a big hurricane strikes and it is devastating - as normally everything on the Island is knocked out / destroyed, help can really take time to get there -  I hope it decides to just disappear into the Atlantic somewhere and spare the Caribbean Islands and Florida ,  Carolina's in the US - my thoughts are with everyone who might be in its way.

We really dodged a bullet in Corpus Christi.  It landed just north of us around Rockport and Port Aransas, where the most wind damage was.  I had around 80 mph wind gusts at my house.  My neighbor's tree blew over.  I just lost some fence and my trees are all beat up.  They had forecast that we would get all that rain, but I think we only had about 6 inches.

It's not often you read that as being a positive thing!
