This was taken from my driveway today, at exactly noon.
 
There are no clouds in the sky. It's sunny and 81 deg F.  But it's like walking around with yellow-tinted sunglasses - there is no color to anything except this sepia-tinted yellow. It was even weirder at sunrise this morning.
 
What you're seeing is the smoke from wildfires 200 miles away in British Columbia and Eastern Washington.
 
Maybe someone from Houston could post the view out their backdoor, to cheer me up.

We're near the Oregon/Washington border (which is the Columbia River) about a third of the way in from the left, with Portland just a bit southeast and across the river.  Right where some the thickest accumulation of smoke is along the river...

Whew , it can certainly feel like the end times are here
 
I'm in the same Geo area as Craig ...The freaking smoke and air quality is unbelievable ...
I'm having a little bit of hard time breathing the smoke flavored air. It's The Wrong flavor Smoke
 
I have been staying indoors most of the day with Duke except to walk him ...Every time I take him out and  look at my car. It looks like somebody poured out a big ashtray on top of it ....that stuff feels sticky and gummy too...
 
If it happens to be my time to go , I hereby leave what ever becan I have in my refrigerator to Beagle ...

I like when the sky is black from a storm but the clouds open up a little and let the sun through, making all the rooftops shine. Kind of makes me think I'm in a dream. 

Just heard from my boss, he's headed over to his parent's house to help them evacuate (his Mom cuts my hair).  The house I lost in the credit crunch is now under evacuation level 1 (get ready).  I had no idea the fire had gone West that fast, but they said it went 13 miles in 16 hours and the smoke is so bad that there's no air support.  Needless to say, that means the fire is 0% contained and it's even jumped across the river to Washington.
 
I literally just did a job two weekends ago where I had to go out to Cascade Locks three days in a row via Highway 84 on the Oregon side, cross the Bridge of the Gods and return via Highway 14 on the Washington side.  I can't believe a lot of the trees I drove by are now gone...  They were able (so far) to save the historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, but many of Oregon and Washington's biggest attractions are in jeopardy.

End times? Not with FEARLESS LEADER in command! He is the only one that can make everything great again!
