Here is my new song, "Revenge!". After my last song, "Mind Machine", I wanted to do something simpler and more straightforward.

This is mostly Omnisphere/Keyscape/Trillian, with some real and virtual guitars. Drums are from BFD3, played by me using a keyboard. The bass during the chorus is NI's Rick, parallel processed through the Ampeg SVX plugin. That Ampeg adds some very nice dirt to a bass.

I must add, that the NI S88 is a wonderful midi controller. The mod slider (instead of a wheel) is supremely easy to control and very expressive.

Update 20161107: I've updated the Bandcamp version with adjusted guitar levels.

Update 20161123: Bandcamp version updated with better snare processing. Took several tries to get this where it needed to be. I think I'm done, lol.

Hope you enjoy and, as always, any comments/suggestions are always appreciated. If you have any questions about how the track was put together, feel free to ask.

Regards,
Dan

Nice - quite different from your recent stuff but I like it.
Listening on crappy PC speakers at the mo - I'll listen in the studio over the weekend.

Excellent track Dan, always a pleasure to hear a new one from you. I admire the restraint in your pieces, nothing is over-played, everything serves the tune. It builds really well too, then releases tension beautifully at around 3.30, like that a lot. Great bass... Good title too, I could imagine of those scenes where the hero is preparing for the big showdown...

Nice mix Dan, everything present and in it own space.  Sweet use of dissonance in the backing.

Hi Dan

Listening through good quality headphones, I must say how much I enjoyed the sense of space and width. Do you use any particular techniques in the placement of the instruments in the stereo field?

A reallly pleasurable five minutes of music - loved it!

Hi Dan
I liked this song a lot,  especially the guitars.
I've had the NI S61 for a while now and I'm still not sure if I like the MW and PB sliders instead of the wheel. I try to think of the slider as a guitar string but I'm just not getting the technique down. I need more practice I suppose.

Thanks for sharing.
