Really cool track Dan. Made me break out my Les Paul and play along!

Beautiful mix, cool synth and guitar work. Like that a lot. Only the quantised drums come across quite lifeless and impassionate. That tune with a real drummer and bass player, that'll be really cool ... anyway, real drummers with superb timing usually don't live next door, so I discovered that working the tempo grid in creative ways can help a lot to make it feel more organic and surprisingly the drum libs cope quite well if you feed them a farily flexible (yet subtle) timing variation

Thanks Rob! The drums were meant to be very mechanical in the beginning and during the first first, then things loosen up. May be that bothers you somewhat.

Excellent stuff Dan, seriously

Very polished... Nice spectrum of sounds used throughout. Loved the lead synth sound

Composition of the song is really interesting.

Mix sounds really well balanced and I can pick up on everything that is going on.

Will this be going on an album at some point? Or are you continuing to build up a collection of singles at Bandcamp?

cheers

andy

Thanks Andy! Nope, no album in the works. On Bandcamp, you can get all of my tracks for a reduced bundle price if that interests you.

Awesome piece Dan ! Loved the smooth yet assertive flow of the track. The lead true to its name, led the track really well. I just thought that a few sounds/fills here and there felt slightly out of tune. But I guess that might have been deliberate for creative variation or probably just my ears

Thanks Ramesh! Or me with the S88's pitch slider. I did a few really slooowww bends in this. There is also a bit where I pulled the whammy bar on my strat...

Great work Dan.
I really like the tension in the buildup, made me feel like something big was about to happen, cool arrangement.
Mix is spot on powerful.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Bob! I appreciate the comments!

Dan the sound you get is one of the best I hear here on this board - just so pristene - the mix is just perfect. You're a great artist - enjoyed this thoroughly.

Thanks Mark! Very kind of you to say! Not sure it is true, but thank you, lol!

great stuff of course. some really cool mixing tricks and the subtle harmonic shifts in  the backing sections are genius. the only thing i would change is aroudn 2'15, when the guitars come in under the lead, i'd pull back some of the verb/delay on the lead then, and beef up the guitar

Thanks Mark! Hmm, I'll have to experiment more with that guitar part as it seems folks want it bigger.

this is a way cool tune!

nice arrangment, nice sense of space and dynamics......

all the chosen 'sounds' and tones are really sweet..

have to agree with the one comment about the snare,
it's not the best choice of sound for this particular song...

and i've very confused,
other folks keep talking about the 'guitars', but i don't hear any guitars!!
???? just keys.....
what am i missing here?

still, no matter, really cool tune dan

Hi, Dan,

Wow, this is truly excellent all the way around!

Well written and played, nicely textured synth work with some really cool twists and turns, cool guitar stuff, and a stellar, pro sounding mix!

The mix is crisp, wide and full sounding with a nice punch to the bottom end.

Fantastic work, Dan, really outstanding!

Bob

Thanks Bob! I appreciate the kind words!

Dan
