This is song #2 off of my new album called "Stay"

this song began as an instrumental called 'redwood road'....
morphed into something else.
the drum track also includes a synth bass track, that i added a regular electric bass track on top of....
drums were built around Sony Acid loops...
guitars are a combination of mesa boogie amp into a demeter isolation cabinet, and direct via a Palmer PDI-09.

The style is not my cup of tea, but I do like the bass playing. Reminds me of some early Steve Harris.

Solid playing and interesting instrumentation, structure.  Listened to this one twice, and I don't usually comment on mixes but this one seems a bit too bassy, or muddy, or something on my system, anyway.  I could barely hear your guitar work buried in the bass.  It could also be my system, as it is an old receiver interfacing the sound card to a set of flat monitor type speakers.

If you get any more comments on it..

Anyway, great tune man.  Always like your stuff, the skill you put in to your songs.

Sounds way better and can hear the guitars a little better, to me.  I can hear that scratch part now, and those kick ass runs.  The other thing I forgot to mention before was how much I dig the space and dynamics of it.  It sounds great turned up.  Love the ending too, by the way.

Cool song bats.   Oozes energy.  Right about the time I was thinking "man I gotta say something about how much verb he has on these drums, it's nuts they sound so far away..."  I realized it was an intentional effect and getting thicker.   Pretty cool actually.  Nice production man.

The mastering engineer did a great job with my original files,
but my original files had some bass build-up in a few key frequencies that i missed,
with my old monitors,
and the files were finished that way with little change up of the overall freqs by the mastering engineer,
he stayed true to my mixes...

it is easier for me now (after the fact) to dial out issues,
all i did was quickly edit the original 16 bit file with some eq changes, and re-post....

since i've almost sold out of all the original cd's,
i'll probably re-mix the problem tunes (there are 3) and re-master myself, to match the other files,
and burn my own cd's if folks purchase any more.....
i wished there was a way to simply setup downloading of the finalized 16 bit wav files, and let people download them at their leisure, and do what they want with them!!
that's what i'd prefer to do...

but going thru cdbaby, this is not an option.

they DO let folks download FLAC files, which is about the best way to do it...
but not everybody has a FLAC player.

maybe one day the methods of delivery will be standardized into a modern way.
