I'm still in guitar mode with my new Hagstrom and this is one of the first melodies I composed around 30 years ago and not one I ever thought I'd record as the melody is a bit weak, but I think I found a suitable sound for it.

Quite pleasant, if a bit 'polite'. Would have been nice to hear a few bends and slurs, just to add some interest.

whack
^ the above is true, main guitar too rigid and plin. Put some feeling in it, express, push and pull the guitar rhythm, bends, vibrato, the tone could with some change, touch more delay and possibly some warmth from a light flanger.

Other than that its solid. Perhaps a reverby wood block on a section every second snare would help add some depth aswell as in some stages you have a backing string sound. I would bring those up and add more as it does towards the end of the song.

Melody is there though

Thanks guys. I hear what you are saying about the guitar playing and I'll definitely work on it, but right now this is about as good as I am. This new Hagstrom is way easier to play, so I'll probably get there.

I am in agreement with the comments above.  Just a little bit of "flash" (not too much) would help to brighten up this song.  If not in the guitar melody, perhaps the background instruments could add a few accents.

It is a good song and you have developed a very pleasant melody and song indeed.

Hi Steen - I really like the melody on this and the chord changes are really nice.
I hear what the guys are saying above but I'm not sure that you need to be more flash with the playing. You could go harder and dirtier with the instrumentation or build up to a dirtier/harder edge maybe half way through the track??

This is a nice melody. Maybe you could write some lyrics for it too.
I understand about learning how to play the guitar. I'm doing that too.

I could maybe choose a rougher guitar sound for the solo part ? Thanks for you comments.

Thought about your suggestion. I'm not sure the melody is strong enough to be a song, but I'll think about it.About the guitar playing,  I really regret not buying a better guitar long ago. Thanks for your input.
