Today (Monday) at 3pm I get a notice from management that one of my posts was selected as "Best Answer", but when I go to that post, the joke's on me cause there's no "Best Answer" sticker on it. This has happened before.

Actually, if your "Best Answer" was for a TOTP in the FSF, then it doesn't last very long.

If it was the Songs forum, 'Best Answer' and 'Helpful' buttons don't seem to work there.

Got an email that my post was marked as helpful.
I can understand the accolades pouring in, the awe and amazement, revelations of wisdom beyond comprehension, the gratitude, the love.
But how the hell am I supposed to bask in the glory if I go to the link and there's nothin' there.
April it is.

Maybe the tags are on B.O. (because CHF keeps depleting the supply) Or maaybee... there's a BAT among us (Best Answer Thief).

It was. But that's no excuse! I want what's rightfully mine! I say we boycott the Songs Forum and stage a peaceful riot until my our demands are met!

Maybe it's a cruel joke designed by those Baker scamps to humble those of us who feverishly watch our emails for such notificational gratificationimizing.
 
By that I mean by following the links the forum auto-yanks the "Helpful/Best Answer" tag thus leaving the reader sad and dejected (and perhaps to the point he/she meanders over to the Cake Store to purchase more doodads as a quick fix to fill the epic void left in their soul).
 
An object lesson in the dangers of hubris.

I think you are on to something. It is beyond understanding how deep the conspiracy goes. We are being sacrificed and denied due praise for some transient monetary gain. You nailed it.
