Don't knock it until you try it!

I don't drink piss beer (Bud, Coors, PBR, Foster's, anything "Light") and prefer beers like Old Speckled Hen, Drop Top, Mirror Pond, Younger's YSB.  But the Hefeweizen was very tasty on a hot day and, yes, a girl DID buy a round!

I was referring to the fact that it had fruit in it.......

"Would you like some fruit in your beer, sir?"

"Yes please" said no man ever.

I struggle with Wies Bier I think it is when I realised I was gluten intolerant.
Must admit I am with Craig that anything with the word "Light" in the name is a turnoff.
I am no afficianado though as I prefer low alcohol high quanitity lagers as opposed to heavy brews.
Lets face it, who wants their beer sieved through the underpants of a Trappist monk?
Years ago one of my favourite haunts on tour was Gorky's Russian Brewery in LA. It closed down way before craft beer became trendy. If it had opened 20 years later it would probably have been a legend.

Old Speckled Hen

Have you tried 'Old Crafty Hen' Craig? It's a little heavier, about 6%, very nice ale.

I used to drink beer. Lots of it. And I'll still have a few when I get out - which is rarely. But I've transitioned to wine.

Like my favorite musician, Beethoven. As the story goes, On his deathbed, after being informed that his publisher had gifted him twelve bottles of wine, Beethoven’s last recorded words were: “Pity, pity, too late!”.

I finally had a little bit of time to go out with some friends last night and thoroughly enjoyed several pints of this:

The wheat beers are my favorite. Bought a 6 of Guinness this weekend, since finding out that it helps prevent hearing loss.

Ah, I thought you were referring to the beer not the crap that someone thought would make for a better picture.  My bad.

I'm a fan.

A friend of mine works for Thornbury, who recently bought King Breweries.  Known for their cider, Thornbury seems to be neglecting all the award-winning brews that King has.  Their Amber Lager and Pilsner are great, but hard to find.  Apparently their Stout is good too, but i'm not a stout guy.   A brand worth looking for.
