I just completed a video on how to play the riff, etc. on Robin Trower's excellent cover of 'Hound Dog' from his 2013 album 'Roots and Branches'.  All sounds mixed and mastered in Sonar Platinum of course!

Yeah, I have the Bridge Of Sighs album, and love it. I must admit though, I haven't heard much of his other stuff.

Thanks John for sharing....a big RT fan, but I've never heard that tune from him. Then again, I always tend to listen to the 3 CD's I have of him.....Victims of the Fury, For Earth Below, and Bridge of Sighs. I just love his phrasing....good stuff.

I bought 'Bridge of Sighs' and the follow up 'For Earth Below' when they came out in 1974, 1975. I saw him live 17th Feb 1975 at Birmingham Town Hall.  I must admit I tuned out for nearly forty years as Robin did a lot of bits and pieces with his band and other notable musicians but didn't really capture his early 70s magic.

But in 2013 he came out with the 'Roots and Branches' album which really caught my ear.  His blues playing has matured enormously and his song writing is very strong indeed.  His style is truly unique now, not just a twist on Hendrix.  His last four albums have been terrific, each surpassing the previous one. Highly recommended!
'Roots and Brances' 2013
'Something's About to Change' 2015
'Where You Are Going To' 2016
'Time and Emotion' 2017

I saw a You tube video / interview with Robin Trower, the craziest thing about his sound is in how he sets up his strat. If I recall he uses super heavy strings tuned down a whole step and has the action set very high. It sounded torturous to play - but he still kills it at nearly 70.
