This is a parody of what 1950s pop music sounded like.  It's supposed to be humorous, but it got a little creepy somewhere along the way.
I'd appreciate any comments and thanks for listening.

Love it. Creep parody creep. More dark humor please!

Mix wise, the drums are playing a straight 4, but your piano is like a triplet with swing. I'd make those drums into a triplet feel, to match the piano.

On your vocal reverb, you might try to pull out some of the low end out of the reverb return, it muddies the mix somewhat.

cheers,

Hey Tom
You're absolutely correct about the piano triplets and drum 4/4.  I did plan on syncing the drums better but after a while I just didn't notice it. I appreciate the comment on that.

I haven't developed my ears enough to tell when a track is too muddy sounding esp on reverb.

Thanks for the helpful comments.

i like it.  This would be a good song for David Lynch.  It is a little creepy, but sometimes that works well.

I'm a fan of David Lynch and boy would that be cool if he gave me a call. :-)

David Lynch has used music by Chris Isaak and Roy Orbison and I think I understand why. Candy Colored Clown and Wicked Games have kind of a dreamy surreal quality to them that appeals to Lynch (and me).

I am with Tom the miss match hi hat to piano makes it difficult to follow.  Will keep the furies out for the retake.

OK, those lyrics were an absolute trip...

Ditto on the comments above regarding the drums and low-mids on the vocals, but worth the extra tweaking.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Got to admit I'm a bit embarrassed about the mismatched drum and piano tracks. Guess I was more focused on making the vocal work so I didn't pay much attention to those clashing tracks.  Boy do I hear them now tho. :-)

This is great Bjorn. Definitely would work in a creepy quirky movie.
Fix those drums as this is a keeper.

Now this is a fun song.  You captured the feel of the '50's "tragedy" ballads.  Definitely a keeper.
