Hey everybody....  Part 2 of my Christmas recording efforts here.

I ripped a MIDI off the internet and arranged the parts.  Then I recorded my guitars on top.  Had fun with this one!  It's got Kontakt's "The Maverick" piano, FM8, Absynth, Massive, Dimension Pro, my Yamaha XF-7, and EZ Drummer 2 in it. (I can't say enough about that piano... it's excellent!)
I used the Pro Channel F/X heavily, and I can't brag about that CA-2A compressor enough either.  It is SO smooth.  I am loving the ReMatrix Solo Reverbs too... might go ahead and get the full version.

I used my Ibanez AF95J jazz guitar (which obviously needs a little fretwork) and my Gibson Larry Carlton ES335 played though a Line6 UX-2 processor for the guitar parts.

Here's the tune:

Hope you like it, and please feel free to critique and download it.

Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Overall like it.   From an arrangement perspective I found the intro a little confusing/disjointed.   When the guitar comes in around 1:02 it all really comes together through to the ending.  Your guitar playing is very nice and really is the highlight of the song.    I would consider keeping the piano intro from 0-:32 and then go right into the guitar bit at 1:02.  That piano bit from :32-1:02 does sound good but to my ears sounds like it really doesn't fit with the theme of the song in my opinion.

I might boost your lead guitar fills volume a little bit too.   Those little fills starting around 2:28.   Very Carlton-esq.

Really good work, had a few listens through and really enjoyed performance.    Not sure about the mix as I am on the road and listening through laptop speakers, but it sounds good on them:)

Great playing Tony - the overall mix has a nice warm feeling - just like Christmas

It is officially too soon though :)

Too soon, but you made me realize that I better get going on tracking, if I want to put something out for the holidays. As meantioned, a really nice warm recording. Excellent musicianship. Well, done.

This is the business. Super smooooth. I'd definitely boost the guitar and drop the piano a little. And I'm a piano player saying that.

The guitar leads are your "vocal" and right now they don't stand forward enough in the mix. I'd punch them all up in volume. Pretty great.

And, close the door! the wind chimes might be a little out of control :)

nice stuff!

cheers,
-Tom

Tom- EXACTLY what I needed!  I thought the same after a listen or 2.
