Hope you are all well , i made this video a while back for another forum (ada depot) , but maybe it would be useful to you guys also

For a long time i have recorded my distortion guitars direct using a cab sim , and it is pretty good sounding but it always lacked a certain power or clarity , it just did not sound as "alive" as an amp. So to remedy this i have got the shure sm57 and trying some mic on cab recording . It did not go smoothly at first lol , it was very boomy and not how i expected it to sound , so eventually i got it sorted with a highpassfilter set to about 125hZ with a very sharp angle of descent (Q?) ...
