Now that I like so many others are moving between Sonar and another DAW, I've found the need to remove the Sonar specific lexan overlay from my MCU Pro.  Unfortunately, the adhesive from the overlay remained as a thin sticky film in the surface of the MCU instead of coming off with the overlay.
Has anyone else had to deal with this and if so is there a way to safely remove the adhesive without also removing the screened on graphics of the MCU itself?

I'm in the same boat here and I'm interesting finding this out as well.

Try a little bit of "Goo Gone" in a small area and see what it does.  If it doesn't screw up anything it should take off the adhesive. Maybe alcohol ???
 
I have an X-Touch and a laminated overlay but its not stuck down.  I too switch between Sonar and Studio One 3.

Thanks Fireberd, I'll give those a try. Probably the alcohol first since I already have some in the medicine cabinet!

Goo Gone is the best. It's pretty similar to PF solvent. ( has an Orange smell )  a little bit goes a long way. Clean the slight residue left over with Alcohol.  Always test a small hidden area if possible before committing to any cleaner. Apply to a rag then wipe it on.... don't slop it directly on any surface.

I took mine off with a blow dryer. Didn't get it too close and always went at it at an angle. kept pushing the glob that came up with a pop sicle like piece of wood.

I licked my Goo off the MCU from the overlay,
the the sticky goo was a bit rough on the taste buds, but now I have a clean MCU to re-apply a new Sonar overlay.
