Looks pretty cool.  Do these kinds of mixers experience latency with long plug in chains?

The rm32ai looks awesome! I could eliminate a mountain of cabling and three analog mixers in my studio _and_ gain per player headphone mixes. I could retire my old Dakota/Montana cards too. I could go on ... The only downside is the lack of physical faders everywhere will be less visually impressive when someone walks in for the first time.

Need to wait for the Dante card to come out first though, I already have GB Ethernet cables in the conduit under the floors which is perfect, and I don't want to buy any more FireWire cards as it seems to be a dying protocol.

I was worried it would not be useful in a studio situation after remembering how loud my 16.4.2 fan is.

But, not an issue, it has no fan, cool!

Gentlemen, this WAR! It's a jungle out there ... ;-)

Seriously though, at least they sound confident that it's stable.

If it weren't stable the product would be worthless IMO.

???
I think your unit must be defective.
I too have the 16.4.2 and my Neumann TLM103 mic running through a DBX 376 compressor [super sensitive mic set-up] is just 18"-24" away from the back of the unit, and it doesn't pick up the slightest bit of fan noise.

To be honest, I didn't even know they had a fan until I read this post - that's how quite mine is - didn't even know about it.

The old model StudioLive didn't have a fan problem, I'm not sure it even had a fan.  The new model StudioLive AI series has a much uprated CPU and has gained a reputation for having loud fan issues. Not a problem for live use, or if all your mics are in a separate recording room but does cause issues for people like us who mostly record in the same room as the mixer.
The RM series (a rack mount StudioLive AI) does not have fan issues.
