Anyone ever use the Edirol MA-15D monitors? I like the idea of connecting them to my keyboard and my PC at the same time.

Does the monitors have to inputs on each monitor?? If they do, then you can do it. If it doesnt, then i would forget about it. You could use a Y cable, but i would not introduce that into my monitoring chain

These monitors actually have 3 sets of inputs. One set of RCA jacks, One set of TRS and a coaxial S/PDIF. Theoretically, I suppose you could hook your DAW on one set of inputs and the keyboard on another, but I don't know how it would sound. I see the potential for noise issues here though.

I use the MA-20D's. They have a nice, flat response and perform as I would expect them to. Given the fact that they did not cost me a fortune, I am elated with them.

they've gotten great reviews but they're discontinued - looks like they were replaced by the 15d's
hopefully the sound's still as good

While I can't say for sure, I don't see Edirol changing them too much. Especially, since the product was so well received.

I am a home user so take most of what I say with a grain of salt.

Using them for monitoring my own recordings with Sonar through a 1212M and playing guitar through them (LOUD) from a pod xt live as if it was an amplifier these guys have worked fine for me for a long time. I think 3 yrs now.

The line inputs are not balanced and the low frequency is 70Hz where better quality monitors would go lower.

In a nutshell they are not going to be as good as super quality expensive monitors as that isn't their price point but they have served we well and have been exposed to long durations at loud volumes without any problems.

The input options are flexible enough for what you want I think and you have got independent controls for the digital or line signals which makes it nice and easy.

I ordered them yesterday - I'll let you guys know how they work out.

Thanks for all of the feedback everyone. BTW basic_rig, I'm a home user too so your "salt" is the same as mine.
